Growing Up

When we started building in April I thought it would be great to take a picture of the kids in their rooms throughout the building process. This is something I could always look back on to remember the kids as they were when we built.

Sawyer was around 4 months old when we began to build and Tate was 19 months old – a year and a half.

Here they are when Uncle Boone finished the dirt work – Sawyer in his soon to be room and Tate in hers! Sawyer was such a little baby and Tate was hard to capture because there was so much playing to be done. She would come inside these afternoons absolutely filthy.

Footing and matching-expressions-in-the-picture day!!!

Side story: The age gap between these two is 15 months and for the LONGEST time I stressed and worried about all the things that this age gap could entail. Well, around this time we were outside discussing plans, Tate was throwing dirt clumps and watching them break as they hit the ground. Sawyer was in the barndo with mom probably eating or sleeping. As I watched Tate, I had the thought “I’d give anything for her to have someone to throw with and play with- she would just love that” and then it hit me… her best friend was already here. He was inside growing up so he could play with her and it would be no time until there were thick as thieves. I have always been so grateful for Sawyer, but this was probably one of the first times that it hit me that he wasn’t taking away from her or her taking away from him, but that they need each other and it is going to be so fun to watch.

Just sitting on the foundation blocks!

Just a crazy girl checking out the plumbing and making electrical decisions! This was for sure a day that she ate supper on the porch and went straight to the bath COVERED in red dirt.

I am glad this rock thing happened when it did because Sawyer wasn’t obsessed with trying to eat rocks…..Now, not so much.

A girl who was thankful she could run faster on the concrete than rocks and a boy who was glad to get some tummy time in the sun!

THE HOUSE LOOKS LIKE A HOUSE!! Framing was completed late June! So we celebrated with some window waves and big grins. This is probably one of my favorite pictures of Sawyer – sweet boy.

❤ ❤ ❤ ❤

Dry wall and painting are done, but these babies needed some spice added to their rooms – no worries I am to extra to leave them like this.

Sawyer, your 8 month old flooring expert.

Accent walls!!! I searched and searched for ideas that could fit the aesthetic I want their rooms to hold for years. When both rooms are fully complete I will be sharing them – and that will be soon.

So, stay tuned!!
